Geoff Keighley has revealed that Summer Game Fest will play host to the first raw gameplay footage of Alan Wake 2 on June 8, 2023.
A new trailer for the upcoming Remedy-developed survival horror title was unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday evening, which also confirmed an October release date for the game.
The studio later confirmed that the footage was ‘100% running on PlayStation 5,’ although did cause some controversy after revealing Alan Wake 2 would be a digital-only release. Right now, there are no plans for a physical version of the game, but THQ Nordic is keen to help make it happen.
Alan Wake 2 is slated for release on October 17, 2023 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game picks up 13 years after the original, where Wake is still trapped in an alternate dimension following the events of the original game. After a string of brutal murders plague Bright Falls, FBI agent Saga Anderson is sent to investigate, with players able to control both Wake and Anderson.
