Destiny 2 is a multi-level project, where the focus is not only on shooter mechanics, space exploration and the confrontation between people and alien invaders, but also on a built-in storyline that smoothly and gradually introduces the player to all the subtleties of the gameplay and the history of the project.
D2 is a global project from the Bungie company, which presented the gaming industry with the first part and the Halo series – all in the theme of the future, space exploration in a shooter network.
You have to choose your game class, upgrade levels, master the quest and grind system, participate in raids and strikes and master the PVP system – Trial of Osiris.
You can upgrade the hero yourself, or order the destiny 2 recovery service to get a character ready for the endgame and immediately go to explore the Lightfall update.
Game classes, their specialization and history
In total, in Destiny 2 you will find three active classes available for the game:
- Titan
- Warlock
- Hunter
Titan
A defensive warrior, master of marksmanship and a vivid prototype of a medieval knight who uses steel fists, ranged weapons and his unique shield to attack opponents, hold off hordes of advancing enemies and protect allies.
Strong in close combat due to his huge fists, he can shake the ground and knock back opponents, hit and maim, but is most effective in defense and on counterattacks.
Specialization
Protecting allies, blocking incoming damage, reducing damage for yourself and all allies. Controlling enemy attacks, counterattacks at close range with fists and ranged weapons.
Story
The Titans are an order of knights who put a lot of effort into building and defending the main city in Destiny 2.
The oath of honor that all titans take obliges them to protect the city and its inhabitants, even if they have to give their lives.
Subclasses and optimal choice
Each hero can choose one of the four proposed subclasses, which will determine the type of reinforcement and the direction of the character’s development.
In total, 4 specializations are available – Lightning, Stand, Void and Sun.
For a tank class that spends most of its time in the forefront and is in constant contact with the enemy, lightning is ideal.
This is the ability to deal elemental damage to all enemies that dare to get too close, which will make the titanium a full-fledged semi-attacking hero with the potential to deal damage while grinding, in PVP and raids.
The second option to enhance the class, the developers from Bungie offered players at the time of the release of the update
This is a subclass of the Stand, which allows you to upgrade the steel fists of the titanium class, giving them the effect of bleeding during the attack, and since one of the most interesting mechanics of the class is considered to be hitting the ground with an AoE effect and knocking over all enemies around, then if you add an unpleasant negative effect to it, constantly taking away health, then you can get a good buff in battle, especially when on the defensive.
Warlock
An offensive class that can also act as a support class.
These are mid-range shooters who can use magic to solve their problems and deal AoE damage, or cast auxiliary areas to buff and heal allies.
Specialization
The warlock is used as an attacking class for AoE pumping in a group or alone, it effectively shows itself in a raid in any of its roles, but for high-quality clearing, two warlocks are often taken at once – one attacks, and the second supports it and the tank, installs a regenerative well and monitors the health and safety of his squad.
Story
According to the internal history, Warlocks are wanderers and the prototype of magicians from the Middle Ages, who were transferred to the distant future, when humanity is actively exploring and colonizing space.
Warlocks prefer light and despise and fight darkness in all its manifestations and for this they do not disdain any magic, but often turn to light, regardless of whether it attacks or acts in an auxiliary role.
Specialization and optimal choice
The Warlock, like the Titan, has two optimal choices that can significantly increase the potential of the class, but to a greater extent this applies to the attacking version of the Warlock.
Void – if you choose the Void subclass, you will get the opportunity to greatly enhance your AoE attacks due to this completely unknown power.
Stand – a new subclass has a similar system, but is applied a little differently. If the void simply enhances the AoE attack, then the stand scatters special chrome balls over the top that deal AoE damage with the effect of shrapnel in the selected area, and in this way you can control the exact area where your opponents receive damage. It can be combined with your tank, let the enemies surround it and deal AoE damage to the area mixed with the damage of itself and thus quickly destroy large groups of enemies, gain experience and clear raid zones.
Hunter
A ranged class with the ability to attack enemies with any armor class and optionally use their daggers and grenades to disguise and avoid combat if the hunter does not want to engage in it.
Specialization
The hunter uses his advantages and shoots opponents from a long distance, can increase his damage, mask his location.
This is an effective class in raids due to the ability to deal consistently good damage to the boss, especially if he is provided with good cover by the tank and attack and support type warlocks.
In PvP, hunters are even more loved due to shooting enemies from a distance, which is especially useful in the Trial of Osiris, where you need to accumulate a series of victories in a row. Even if they manage to get close to you, you can always attack the enemy with quick dagger strikes and use grenades for a tactical advantage, or opportunities for maneuver.
Story
In the story of Destiny 2, hunters are the inhabitants of distant lands who were driven out of their native territories and were forced to wander the wilderness, hone their shooting and survival skills, and take on any job in order to survive.
The hunter can be identified by his signature cape, which means that he has a contract for contract killing that must be completed. According to the code of honor, the hunter must take the cloak of the deceased brother in order to complete his work.
Subclass
There is only one optimal class for a hunter – the sun.
It allows you to concentrate his energy and deliver enhanced shots that will ignore the target’s armor, which is good in raids and during PvP.
A stand that combines melee and ranged attacks with the new ritual weapons could be considered, but the sustained damage buff would be a more useful buff.
