Analyst Claims PS5 Sales At 30 Million Ahead Of Xbox Series X/S 18.5 Million

According to Analysis’ Piers Harding-Rolls, the PS5 is leading sales in the current-generation hardware war quite comfortably with 30 million, with Microsoft having reportedly moved around 18.5 million Xbox Series X/S consoles.

However, while Sony’s hardware has the sales advantage, it’s not all doom and gloom for Microsoft. Harding-Rolls notes that Xbox consoles managed to increase its share of units ales over the past year due to the Xbox Series S becoming more widely available following major stock shortages.

Despite this, he predicts that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S sales gap will widen due to Sony’s console seemingly now over any stock issues, while Microsoft has yet to confirm an end to Xbox Series X shortages.

Sony announced during its latest financial call that the PS5 has shipped 32 million units worldwide following its launch in November 2020.
