Sony may be on the verge of announcing a PlayStation 3 price cut within the next few days, according to Janco Partners analyst, Mike Hickey.
Hickey feels that the platform holder will need to slash the price by approximately $100 USD in order to stimulate sales of the console, believing the market is expecting a price cut by June at the latest.
“Recent channel checks indicate increased speculation for a PS3 price cut announcement from Sony in the next couple of days,” he said.
“We think the company needs to reduce the current price by USD 100 to effectively restart unit velocity at retail. We believe the market is expecting a PS3 price cut in April or by June at the latest.”
Keep your eyes peeled for more developments as they break.
