Arc Raiders Arc Raiders Aggression Matchmaking Arc Raiders Kill On Sight Embark Studios News PS5

Arc Raiders Kill-On-Sight Players Will Be Matched With Those Who Are Equally As Aggressive

Patrick Soderlund, CEO of Embark Studios, has revealed that players who regularly kill-on-sight in Arc Raiders will be matched with those who also like to get equally trigger-happy.

Speaking with GamesBeat, Soderlund spoke broadly about the matchmaking system in the game, and later confirmed that a type of aggression-based matchmaking system has been implemented recently.

Obviously, first it’s skill-based, of course. Then you have solos, duos, and trios. And then also, since a week ago or so, we introduced a system where we also matchmake based on how prone you are to PvP or PvE. So if your preference is to do PvE and have less conflict with players, you’ll get more matched up [with other friendly people] – obviously it’s not a full science.

When GamesBeat’s Dean Takahashi noted that someone asked him, β€˜is there aggression-based matchmaking’ Soderlund responded: “That’s exactly what it is. A game like this, we knew from the beginning that we were going to get some. “Especially as the game has gotten big, that’s a problem.”

Arc Raiders was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on October 30, 2025, and takes the form of a PvPvE extraction shooter set in a post-apocalyptic Italy in the distant future. The surface has been overtaken by ARC robots, that have forced the remnants of humanity to retreat underground. However, some people, known as raiders, have opted to venture above ground β€” known here as the topside β€” to gather resources to sell, trade and help out the survivors in the underground city.
