Assassin’s Creed 2, new Ghost Recon coming in FY 09

During Ubisoft’s quarterly financial earnings call, company CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that Assassin’s Creed 2 and a new Ghost Recon game will release during the 2009 financial year (April 2009 to March 2010).

The original Assassin’s Creed sold six million copies worldwide, so a sequel isn’t exactly mind-boggling news. Since the first game dominated the holiday market, we’d be surprised if Assassin’s Creed 2 didn’t arrive before the end of the calender year.

Ubisoft also plans to launch three new intellectual properties in 2009, including upcoming disaster romp I Am Alive, which was just given a March release date.
