Christopher Grilli has been hired as the lead scriptwriter for Ubisoft’s medieval-flavoured Assassin’s Creed Hexe, having previously worked on a number of entries in the franchise including Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Speaking on LInkedIn, Grilli had the following to say about his new position.
I’m thrilled to share that I’m starting a new position at Ubisoft Montreal as a Lead Scriptwriter on Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe. Incredibly grateful to be a part of this team and project.
Assassin’s Creed Here is currently believed to be the next major entry in the franchise, and a report by Insider-Gaming in February 2024 stated that the project is set to be the ‘darkest‘ instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise to date. According to the report, Hexe will feature a female protagonist known as Elsa, and will wield supernatural powers. Furthermore, the game is set to take pace during the European Witch Trials towards the end of the Holy Roman Empire.
The most recent entry in the Assassin’s Creed series launched in March 2025 in the form of the Japan-set Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and it’s all but confirmed that we’re getting an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake at some point before March 31, 2026.
