Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will feature an Abstergo employee as its modern-day star, Ubisoft has confirmed.
Up until now, all previous games in the historical action-adventure series have starred Desmond Miles, a former bartender-turned-assassin, in the present-day plotline. However Miles’ story wrapped with Assassin’s Creed III.
Ashraf Ismael, Black Flag’s game director, confirmed to VG247 at E3 this week that the modern-day sections will take place from a first-person perspective. While Assassin’s Creed, ACII and Brotherhood all featured third-person platforming for Desmond, Revelations introduced first-person puzzle sections for the present day antics.
It isn’t known, however, if Black Flag will follow in Revelations’ footsteps in this regards.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U. Next-generation versions have yet to attract a release date, though current crop of home consoles will receive the game in late October.
