Assassin’s Creed movie casts Michael K. Williams

Variety reports that Michael K. Williams has joined the cast of the upcoming movie adaptation of Assassin’s Creed.

The former Broadwalk Empire star joins Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in the movie, which is due to hit cinemas in December 2016.

While details on Williams’ are currently being kept under wraps, it is believed his character will have a ‘major stake’ in the series. If a sequel to Assassin’s Creed were to materialize, then Williams is expected to ascend to co-star status in the follow-up.

Details on the plot to Assassin’s Creed have yet to be confirmed New Regency, and it is unknown if Fassbender will be playing Altair or Ezio in the movie. That is, assuming that the project will follow the story of the first or second instalments in the video game franchise. 

Fassbender previously confirmed that filming will commence this September.
