Assassin’s Creed Origins leak reveals logo and main character

A new Assassin’s Creed Origins leak has seemingly outed the main character and logo for the highly anticipated third-person action-adventure game.

This latest scoop comes via an image of a new line of t-shirts for Ubisoft’s multi-million selling franchise, which appears to show a mysterious assassin by the name of Ba Yek, along with the Origins logo. The image was originally posted on a Facebook fan page known as Le Verita dell’Animus, before quickly being picked up by social media.

Further scrutiny confirms the ancient egyptian setting for the new Assassin’s Creed game, which according to a small print on the t-shirt, takes place in the year 49 B.C. The new logo also sports a distinctly egyptian feel to it. You can check out an image of the t-shirt below and find more shots of the merchandise here

Assassin’s Creed Origins is the long-rumored 2017 instalment in the franchise, which has been in production for some time now. The game is all but confirmed to take place in egypt, and will see a number of brand new features introduced, including the ability to use an eagle to scout out the map and uncover points of interest. Ubisoft has yet to fully reveal the game, but has confirmed a new Assassin’s Creed will launch by March 2018

Originally it was believed that game would see the return of naval combat, with a leaked Assassin’s Creed Origins screenshot depicting the player character sailing in a small boat. However, it appears that you’ll only be using the craft to travel to new locations, so don’t expect any Black Flag-style ship battles. Previously, the game was thought to be titled Assassin’s Creed Empire, with the title set to kick start a brand new trilogy that features locations such as Rome and Greece.

The mainline Assassin’s Creed games have been on hiatus since the launch of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in fall 2015, as Ubisoft announced plans to re-examine the brand.
