Ubisoft has revealed during its latest financial call that Assassin’s Creed Shadows‘ first expansion, Claws of Awaji, is set to arrive in the second quarter of FY2025, which puts it out no later than September.
Ahead of the Holiday season, the mid-term potential of the game will be supported by the Claws of Awaji expansion, coming in Q2, that will introduce more than 10 hours of new content along with a new weapon, skills and abilities, further expanding and enriching the game experience.

Previously, a report on Insider Gaming claimed that Claws of Awaji was due to launch in September, so the fact Ubisoft has confirmed a Q2 FY2025 release window does match up nicely. The publisher also mentioned that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has performed “in line with expectations” with five million players recorded globally since its launch in March 2025.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows was released in March 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with Ubisoft later confirming the title recorded the series’ second-highest day-1 sales revenue to date — only Assassin’s Creed Valhalla managed better. Back in mid-April, Circana’s Mat Piscatella revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadow is the second-best selling game of 2025 in the US up to that point.
