Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Adding A Menu Option For Guaranteed One-Shot Assassinations

Assassin’s Creed Shadows publisher Ubisoft has revealed in a new update on the game’s progress that players will have the option of turning on guaranteed one-shot assassinations.

The Assassin’s Creed games have long given players the ability to instantly kill enemies behind or above while undetected, although things changed with the introduction of Assassin’s Creed Origins, which introduced a levelling system and stats. As such, if you weren’t powerful enough, your stealth assassination attack would inflict major damage, but not outright kill your foe.

However, Ubisoft introduced the ability to toggle a one-shot kill option for assassinations with Assassin’s Cred Valhalla, and this is returning for Shadows.

You can trigger the ‘one-shot assassination’ feature in the game options, which allows you to assassinate all enemies regardless of their health bar.

By default, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will determine if your assassination attempt is successful based on how strong your character’s gear and level is, and will indicate how successful your attack is by your enemies’ health bars. If it’s white, you are guaranteed a kill; yellow means that you will inflict some damage, while red confirms the attack will be ‘denied.’

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on March 20, 2025. A recent info drop from an interview with the game’s creative director has revealed that the game’s main story will last 30-40 hours, and the team will consider adding a New Game Plus option based on user feedback.
