Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has stealthily found its way into the hands of gamers thanks to select stores breaking the game’s street date, and as a result, it’s come to our attention that the London-based action-adventure game has a day-one patch to download when you boot it up.
According to a user on NeoGAF, the update will weigh in at just 534MB on PlayStation 4, making it one of the smallest day-one patches of recent memory. The update brings the total file size of Syndicate on PS4 to around 43GB for those who are counting.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is due out worldwide this Friday for current-generation systems and PC. The game takes place in Victorian London in the year 1868, and focuses on siblings Jacob and Evie Frye as they battle the Templar order in the midst of the Industrial Revolution. Curiously, the game eschews the multiplayer elements of previous Assassin’s Creed titles, which have been included since 2010’s Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.
New to the table in Syndicate includes the ability to switch between two characters at any point in the game. The Frye siblings each have their own special attributes; Jacob is more at home in close-quarters brawling, while Evie prefers a more stealthy approach and relies on her wit and intelligence to see her through. Syndicate also introduces a rope launcher to facilitate rooftop navigation, while weapons include a revolver, brass knuckles and a cane sword.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will support microtransactions and will also receive two free costumes next month; one for each of the game’s protagonists.
