Atlus has revealed that Demon’s Souls, a groundbreaking action RPG coming to the PlayStation 3, will become the newest entry in the company’s Atlus Spoils fan appreciation program. For those of you not familiar with the Atlus Spoils program, look no further than its name – it ‘spoils’ you with a deluxe edition.
In addition to the standard version, which now features new North-American exclusive box art, the deluxe edition will include a 150-page strategy guide, a collectable outer slipcase, and, of course, the game itself. If you pre-order either version you will receive a free bonus art book with designs and concept sketches from the Demon’s Souls world.
The game is already available in Japan, and Atlus states the North American version will feature a unique on-line co-op experience and challenging PvP battles. You can leave hints for other players, replay death scenes, cooperatively revive dead players, or invade another player’s game to wreak havoc. The game is said to be completely open-ended.
Demon’s Souls is set for release on the PS3 on October 6 with the standard version selling for $59.99 USD and the deluxe edition selling for $69.99 USD. Pre-orders for the deluxe edition are scheduled to being on July 8.
