Baldur’s Gate III Update 7 Is Not The Final Patch, As Cross-Play & Photo Mode Also In The Pipeline

Larian Studios has revealed that the upcoming Baldur’s Date III update 7 is not the game’s final patch after all, and that it is currently working on a number of extra features for the critically acclaimed fantasy-RPG.

Speaking on Steam, the studio confirmed that Baldur’s Gate III will still be supported beyond Update 7, stating “we still have a few things up our sleeve — including many community-requested features like cross-play and a photo mode.”

Beyond that, the Baldur’s Gate III developer added that it’s “working on a host of other enhancements, from gameplay tweaks and quality-of-life improvements to bug fixes and performance optimizations.”

Baldur’s Gate III Update 7’s highlight feature is of course the implementation of modding tools, which will arrive in September alongside a review process that will determine which user creations will make the transition from the PC version of the game to consoles.

Last week, Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke revealed that the game won so many awards that it actually affected development to the point that they had to rotate different team members to attend the events.
