Electronic Arts and Ripple Effect Studio’s upcoming Battlefield 2042 could be delayed, possibly into 2022, according to the latest Internet rumblings.
Prominent YouTuber DEALER and Xbox Era co-founder Nick Baker are both hearing murmurs about a possible Battlefield 2042 delay, although to what extent is a bit mixed. Baker says that he’s hearing about a delay, but not necessarily into next year, although DEALER says he’s hearing whispers about the game being pushed to 2022.

EA hasn’t confirmed any sort of delay for Battlefield 2042 yet, so officially, the game is still slated to launch on October 22, 2021 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. A recent leak has seemingly confirmed that the game’s Beta will kick off on September 22.
Battlefield 2042 eschews a traditional single-player campaign in favour of huge multiplayer skirmishes, and the new Battlefield Portal will allow you to create custom matches based on assets from previous games in the series.
