Ripple Effect Studios has all but confirmed the existence of the rumored Battlefield Hub feature for Battlefield 2042, confirming the game will be adding classic maps for players to experience.
Ripple Effect Studios’ GM Christian Grass revealed the following details during an EA Play Live Spotlight presentation:
I can’t say that much about it. What I can say is that one of the components in this experience that we’re creating is that we’re adding some of the fan-favorite maps back into Battlefield 2042. But the entire experience you have to wait a bit longer, before we reveal what that is.
If you recall, that’s exactly what Battlefield Hub is supposedly going to be; a gateway for classic maps that have been remastered for inclusion in Battlefield 2042. The mode itself hasn’t been officially named, it still sounds like exactly what has previously been described.
That’s not all, either. Tom Henderson, the leaker who has provided all sorts of details on Battlefield 2042 including Battlefield Hub, has posted a list of some of the maps that will reportedly be included. However, he states that he’s not sure if Battlefield Hub is the final name for the feature.
Battlefield 2042 is scheduled for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on October 22, 2021.
