Electronic Arts has announced that Battlefield 3 has drummed up over four million Premium subscribers.
The publishing powerhouse confirmed the figure ahead of its Q1 FY2014 earnings call, which takes place later today. Battlefield: Premium saw over one million users sign-up for the service in the last six months.
The jump has been attributed to recent discounts on digital stores, which saw PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE users able to snap up Premium for 50 per cent off the asking price.
Battlefield 3: Premium was released in June 2012, offering players access to the military shooter’s five expansion packs at no extra cost, plus an array of bonus goodies.
The next chapter in the Battlefield franchise is due out later this year. No doubt we can expect a similar service to launch for that game, too.
