Battlefield 6 is jumping into the Battle Royale space with its own explosive spin. The mode supports 100 players split into 25 squads of four, and everything you’d expect from the series is here. Vehicles, gadgets, throwables, and the kind of large-scale destruction that makes every match unpredictable.
Unlike other battle royales, survival hinges on a shrinking ring that leaves no room for mistakes. EA calls it the “deadliest ring in BR,” and there’s no chance of escaping once it closes in. Cross the boundary and you’re eliminated, plain and simple. It’s designed to keep matches intense and force fights into tighter spaces as the chaos ramps up.
The action unfolds on a brand-new, massive map created specifically for the mode. It’s designed to handle the scale of 100 players, with wide open areas for vehicle battles and dense zones perfect for close-quarters chaos. Combined with Battlefield’s trademark destruction, no two matches will ever play out the same way.
Classes play a major role, but there’s no swapping once the match begins. Instead, you’ll level up as you go, unlocking new traits to strengthen your chosen role. To make things even more dynamic, missions pop up during play, rewarding squads with loot, armor, vehicle keys, or even upgrade kits. It’s a mix that aims to reward smart decision-making as much as sharp shooting.
Closed testing begins this week, giving players the first taste of the new mode. With destruction, vehicles, and the trademark Battlefield sandbox all baked into a BR format, it feels like EA is betting big on Battlefield 6 having something different to offer in a crowded genre.
If it all comes together, this could be the most explosive take on Battle Royale yet.
