Battlefield Creative Director Craig Morrison Has Series Left To Join Blue Scarab Entertainment

Craig Morrison, who served as Battlefield Creative Director before later assuming the role of Studio Creative Director, has now departed the series for a place at Blue Scarab Entertainment, according to his LinkedIn profile.

This is the second major departure for the Battlefield series in just one month, following the exit of Marcus Lehto. Morrison initially joined up for the franchise back in August 2021, and replaced Lars Gustavsson in December 2022 as the head honcho of Battlefield.

Ridgeline Games, a support studio established to aid in the development of future Battlefield narrative projects, was shuttered late last month. This comes as part of publisher Electronic Arts’ layoff of 670 employees, and a result, the company’s single-player project has now been passed to Criterion.

So, what’s next for Battlefield? Well, EA hinted during its latest earnings all that the next entry in the franchise is not likely to launch until at least FY25, so we presumably won’t be getting a new game this year as originally expected. Having said that, Battlefield 2042 I still being supported with new content, so that’ll keep fans busy for now.
