The nominees for Best PlayStation Portable Game of 2010 are…
And the winner is…
It’s hard to improve on perfection, but somehow Ready at Dawn managed to take an incredible PSP game and make its sequel even better. God of War: Ghost of Sparta had some tough competition for Best PSP Game, but its improved combat, dramatic visuals, and compelling origins story warrant the accolade. Anyone who played Ghost of Sparta may take offense to calling it the little brother of God of War III. Sure, it’s on a smaller platform, but it packs an immense punch. With Kratos venturing through Sparta to find his brother Deimos, Ghost of Sparta offered an enlightening look into what turned the Spartan soldier into the god-slaying machine we all know and love.
And the Community Award goes to…
Snake snuck past Kratos for the #1 spot in the community vote, with Kojima Productions’ Peace Walker snagging an admirable 44.4% of the votes. Ready at Dawn’s Ghost of Sparta held its ground with a respectable 38.9% of votes. Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep came away with 11.1%, while the niche but decidedly excellent Lunar: Silver Star Harmony and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable each walked away with less than 5% of votes.
