Big Boot Games Reveals Debut Title Meteora For PSVR 2, Billed As A Cosmic Survival Racer

Big Boot Games has taken to the PlayStation Blog to reveal its debut title, Meteora, for the PSVR 2, which the studio describes as a cosmic survival racer.

This gravity-defying VR experience sees players controlling a Meteor as it makes its way through the cosmos, where you’ll steer it across celestial terrain while avoiding the various dangers along the way to ensure your survival. With each run, Meteora promises to push you to your limits and sharpen your skills as you tackle each challenge, pursue high scores, and cement your name on the leaderboards.

Meteora is more than just a high-speed combat racer, it’s an unforgiving test of instinct and precision. Every second demands split-second strategy and decisions as you navigate explosive asteroids belts, electrically charged debris, and icy barriers that threaten to freeze your momentum. But fear not, the universe does throw lifelines. Scattered throughout space are Energy Crystals to increase your mass, and Stardust to push your velocity to the limit. Do you hoard mass for durability or fuel for raw acceleration? The landscape shifts with every level, leaving you with only one choice – adapt; here, balance is everything.

Big Boot Games is promising full immersive use of the PSVR 2 Sense Controller, with haptic feedback support and high-resolution display, with players feeling every collision, rumble, and crackle integrated into the controller feedback. Meanwhile, the adaptive triggers allow you to feel the intensity of acceleration and deceleration as your meteor blasts through the cosmos. Meteora is also playable in VR or on a traditional flatscreen, and will deliver a seamless experience however you wish to play.

Meteora is currently in development for PSVR 2 with a release date yet to be announced.
