Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC now pre-loading on PS4

Those of you who have pre-ordered The Older Hunters, the upcoming expansion for the PlayStation 4-exclusive gothic action game, Bloodborne, may want to know that the DLC can now be pre-loaded ahead of its release on November 24.

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, this means that you can now begin downloading the game prior to its release, ensuring you can start playing it from the second it is released. In other words, it’ll be pre-loaded on your PS4 in time for launch day.

The Old Hunters introduces new environments including the monolithic clock tower, and features a host of new weapons, outfits, and magic to expand the critically acclaimed dungeon crawler. In addition, Bloodborne is also being re-released under the Game of the Year moniker later this month, which features a copy of the game alongside The Old Hunters for those who have yet to sample From Software’s brutal action-RPG. Bloodborne was released in March for PS4 and has already sold over two million copies worldwide, and is up for Game of the Year at this year’s Game Awards.

While not technically part of the same series, Bloodborne is seen as a spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls, incorporating many elements from the cult classic PS3 title. Set from a third-person viewpoint, Bloodborne has players controlling a mysterious hero known as The Hunter, who battles a series of grotesque creatures within the gothic-inspired city of Yharnam, the inhabitants of which have fallen victim to a blood-born disease—hence the game’s title.

Similar to the ‘Souls’ series, Bloodborne is also known for its brutal difficulty, although some have observed that it isn’t quite as taxing as its spiritual predecessors. The game was previously known under the working title of Project Beast prior to its unveiling at E3 2014. Read our full Bloodborne review.
