Borderlands 3 update from Gearbox is great news

Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has provided a new Borderlands 3 update during a panel at PAX West, confirming that around 90 percent of the team is now focused on development of the much-anticipated sequel.

Unfortunately, Pitchford wasn’t able to provide any further details on the status of the project, including when we’re likely to see the game officially revealed. However, as things seem to be moving along swiftly, hopefully we won’t have to wait long.

There’s still a number of gaming events that could play host to a potential Borderlands 3 reveal. For starters, we have Paris Games Week in October, followed by the PlayStation Experience and The Game Awards in December.

We already know that the Borderlands 3 release date could be set for some time in 2018, as hinted at by Take-Two chief Strauss Zelnick earlier this summer. As such, a formal reveal is sure to materialise in the not too distant future.

Not much is known about the game at present, although it has been suggested that the title may not be called Borderlands 3.
