Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition Rated For PS4 (Again)

Borderlands 3 Officially Announced by Gearbox

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition has once more been officially rated for PS4. This time, it is the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee which has rated the game for both PS4 and Xbox One platforms.

Previously, the Korea Game Rating Board had rated the game back in May last year.

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition PS4 Remaster Incoming?

The revelation that a second ratings board has provided a rating to Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, suggests that the game is very much a real thing and that a PS4 remaster with all of the DLC trimmings is surely on the cards (and hopefully, for a budget price given the age of the thing.)

Originally released in 2009, Borderlands kicked off the whole FPS lootfest thing that Gearbox would later refine with its superb sequel Borderlands 2, and then later in the hugely entertaining Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel were remastered and re-released on PS4 and Xbox One as the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. And it was pretty great.

When Borderlands: The Handsome Collection was released, folk were puzzled as to why 2K and Gearbox Software didn’t include the original. If the latest ratings news is any sort of indicator, it would appear that Gearbox and 2K are looking to correct that oversight.

Most recently though, Borderlands 2 VR PS4 has become a thing – allowing players to scoot through the entirety of the Borderlands 2 campaign in full, face-trembling VR.

Of course, the news of Borderlands: Game of the Year edition potentially being a thing on PS4, and when coupled with the recent release of Borderlands 2 VR, both help to take attention away from the fact that Gearbox has gone pretty quiet on the highly anticipated Borderlands 3.

Something that we hope will change in the very near future given that the last thing we heard about Borderlands 3 was that any sort of release date was a good way off to say the least..

As far as Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition on PS4 goes though, we’ll keep our ears to the ground and update you as soon as we know more.
