Activision has revealed that development of Call of Duty 2023 is ‘proceeding well,’ with the game targeting a Q4 2023 release window.
Speaking during its second quarter earnings call, the publishing powerhouse didn’t reveal any key details on the project, but made it clear the game will arrive on PC and consoles later this year.
Activision’s teams are hard at work on major new instalments in the franchise slated for the fourth quarter. Development of this year’s full annual premium release on PC and console is proceeding well. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, an ambitious, internally developed mobile game tightly integrated with the PC and console experience, continues to progress through regional testing.
It has been long-rumoured that Call of Duty 2023 will be a continuation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with Sledgehammer Games handling development duties. Earlier this week, Activision seemed to confirm that content from MW2 will be transferable to this year’s instalment in the multi-million selling first-person shooter franchise.
Call of Duty 2023 will be released later this year for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
