Call of Duty 4 dated for Europe

Activision has revealed plans to release the forthcoming Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in European territories on November 9th 2007.

The date itself was let slip by an Activision senior brand manager speaking at a recent gathering at Birmingham’s Omega Sektor. However, as expected, the company has yet to officially confirm the date, instead only reiterating a planned release date for this winter.

“We can’t confirm or deny this, we can only say that Call of Duty 4 is out this coming Winter,” a company spokesperson stated, adding, “however, it certainly shows that there is a lot of anticipation surrounding this release, which is clearly good for us.”

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare marks the series first transition to a contemporary modern day setting, featuring a host of modernised weaponry, equipment and vehicles to utilize in combat. The game has so far been highly praise for its incredibly realistic visual offering, bringing to life the grim, harsh realities of urban-based combat as you infiltrate a number of highly-detailed and fully destructible battle zones.
