Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is 60fps, but target resolution is still to be confirmed

The developer behind Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has revealed it isn’t quite ready to commit to a target resolution for the upcoming military shooter, as it’s still in the process of "optimizing" the experience.

One thing that is for certain, however, is that the hotly anticipated title will run at a silky-smooth 60fps.

"So we’re 60 frames a second all the way," Sledgehammer Games’ Mike Meija told OXM. "We are not talking about the – we’re still waiting for announcements to come out in terms of where we’re at with the resolutions, but I can tell you that the three year development title that we’ve had, working with everyone involved to make sure that we’re getting it right… we’re still optimising the game, but even with where we’re at right now, we’re really happy.

"We’re ahead of where we were last year, and we still have time, we still have a couple of months to go."

Call of Duty is no stranger to controversy in regards to the topic of resolution and frame rate. Last year’s Call of Duty Ghosts received much criticism from Xbox One owners as their version of the shooter clocked in at 720p, while the PlayStation 4 edition ran at 1080p.
