Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty Black Ops II are being ported to PlayStation courtesy of Treyarch and Iron Galaxy, publisher Activision has announced. Specific platforms were not announced, so we don’t know if they’re coming to PS4 or PS5 or both systems.
However, Activision did confirm that both games will feature Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies game modes, offering the full package.
The original Call of Duty Black Ops launched in November 2010 for PS3, PC, DS, Wii, and Xbox 360. The game’s main story takes place during the 1960s in the midst of the Cold War, and follows Alex Mason, a CIA operative attempting to recall specific memories that will reveal a numbers station set to instruct Soviet sleeper agents to deploy chemical weapons across the US. The campaign takes players across locations including Cuba, the Soviet Union, US, Hong Kong, and more.
Meanwhile, Call of Duty Black Ops II arrived in November 2012 for PS3, PC, Wii U and Xbox 360, and brings the action forward into the 1980s. Here, players jump between Alex Mason and Frank Woods, as well as sections that the place in 2025 where you control David, Mason’s son. Unlike the original Black Ops, the sequel features non-linear gameplay and multiple endings.
Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty Black Ops II will launch for PlayStation in July 2026.
