Publishing giant Activision has reiterated during its latest financial report that Call of Duty will be receiving a ‘full premium release’ at some point this year.
The company previously announced that a premium entry in the multi-million selling first-person shooter franchise would drop this year, although hasn’t gone into any further details yet. Anyway, here’s its latest statement on the matter:
Across the Call of Duty franchise, our teams are working to amplify the success of the fourth quarter, with 2023 plans including even more engaging live services across platforms and the next full annual premium release in the blockbuster series.
Alongside Activision’s original announcement about this year’s plans, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier claimed that the new Call of Duty game would actually be a continuation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, so we’re looking at some sort of major expansion.
Back in 2021, it was reported that Call of Duty 2023 would be a new entry in the Black Ops franchise, although this has obviously changed.
