Call of Duty: Ghosts review round-up

Activision’s annual military franchise Call of Duty makes its return today in the shape of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts. In a departure from the long-running Modern Warfare series, Ghosts brings with it a brand new storyline and cast of characters, as well as the Extinction Mode, which is essentially this game’s version of Zombies. There’s even the introduction of Man’s Best Friend as a killstreak reward, giving you a canine companion.

Still, this is Call of Duty, and despite its ability to sell like hotcakes, many critics have been quick to accuse the series of suffering from brand fatigue. Last year’s Black Ops II attempted to reinvigorate the franchise with some notable additions such as branching story paths, but can Ghosts claim to offer the same refreshing take on the venerable military FPS?

The critics have spoken, so have a look at what the had to say in our review round-up below. Be sure to read our own verdict on Call of Duty: Ghosts here.
