Call Of Duty Warzone 2.0 Won’t Transfer Over Your Current Warzone Progress & Items

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 will not allow players to transfer their current progression and items across to the new game, publisher Activision has announced.

Speaking in a blog post on the new battle royale title, the publishing powerhouse revealed that the game will serve as “an extension of the Modern Warfare 2 universe” and as such features fresh progression and inventories.

That’s not to say the current Call of Duty Warzone will be going the way of the Dodo; that will continue to exist as a separate experience, offering a “continuation” of player progression and inventories within the original Call of Duty Warzone.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 was announced yesterday by Activision, where the company also confirmed that all future entries in the multi-million selling franchise would be built on one unified engine.

The new, free-to-play battle royale Warzone also features the same technology powering Modern Warfare 2, so both titles leverage the Call of Duty engine that first debuted with Modern Warfare (2019), providing the most seamless and advanced Call of Duty experiences ever.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is slated for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on October 28, 2022. Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 will launch shortly after.
