Capcom issues apology for Monster Hunter 3

Capcom has gone on record to offer an apology to PlayStation 3 users anticipating the next instalment in the Monster Hunter series, following the company’s recent decision to switch development over to the Nintendo Wii.

The statement comes in the latest issue of Japanese gaming publication, Famitsu, where company representatives insist PS3 owners should wait to hear on any announcements regarding the Monster Hunter franchise.

IGN reports: “Famitsu pointed out that some people may have purchased a PS3 once Monster Hunter 3 was announced last year. This drew a big apology from the Capcom reps, who said that PS3 owners should wait for further announcements in the series."

Despite the platform shift, Capcom has pledged that it aims to increase its output for Sony’s next-generation console, and currently has a number of upcoming projects in the works, including Lost Planet, Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 5.
