Yuji Horii has once again touched based on the elusive Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate, assuring fans that the game is still very much in the pipeline — something he already did back in February — but admitted he’s unable to talk about anything specific related to the game yet.
Speaking during an interview with GameReactor, Horii-san said that he’s putting lots of work into Dragon Quest XII, but wasn’t about to spill any significant details.
Yes, indeed, I can’t say anything, I apologize. I am making it, putting lots of work into it… I can only say that the next work will be great too, [I’m] working really hard. Please look forward to it is the only thing I can say.

Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate was announced by Square Enix during the series’ 35th anniversary celebrations in May 2021, but not much has been shared on the highly anticipated sequel since then, other than it’s being powered by Unreal Engine 5.
