Capcom PSOne Games Dino Crisis & Resident Evil: Director's Cut No Longer Locked Behind PS Plus

The PlayStation Store has revealed that a number of Capcom’s PSOne classics are no longer locked behind a PlayStation Plus subscription, with Dino Crisis and Resident Evil: Director’s Cut now available to purchase for $9.99 each.

Both games were previously only available as part of a PS Plus Premium membership, with Dino Crisis the most recent game to be added to the lineup. The decision to block the games behind a paywall was heavily criticised at the time, as many argued that there shouldn’t be any reason why you can’t just buy the games outright without subscribing to PS Plus.

PS Plus Premium is the highest subscription tier available to users, and includes everything in the previous membership options plus a range of retro titles spanning PS3, PS2, PSOne, and PSP platforms.

Dino Crisis was originally released for the PSOne back in 1999 while Resident Evil: Director’s Cut arrived in 1997, and included a playable demo of Resident Evil 2, which at the time was still over six months away from release.
