Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has confirmed that Capcom will be showcasing an all-new “Gears-like” control system for the upcoming Survival Horror title at the Tokyo Games Show next month.
The move comes following earlier hints at E3, where Takeuchi stated, “…don’t be surprised if at the Tokyo Game Show, the controls are different… I’m not confirming or denying anything, but we like to surprise people."
Resident Evil 5 currently utilizes the same control scheme as its predecessor, resulting in a fair amount of criticism from the gaming press following a playable demo of the title appeared at E3 and Leipzig. A recent preview from website CVG also suggests the presence of some form of cover system.
The Tokyo Games Shown takes place on October 9 – 12.
