Capcom has confirmed on Twitter that Alex will be Street Fighter V’s first character DLC and will be made available in March 2016.
No further details were revealed in the Tweet, although we already know that Street Fighter V will launch with 16 combatants from day-one, with more characters rolling out throughout 2016.
Street Fighter chief Yoshinori Ono also confirmed last year that he has a five-year plan in store for the hotly anticipated fighting game sequel, though what that entails is anyone’s guess at the time of writing.
The perennially chirpy developer has also made it clear that Street Fighter V won’t be coming to any other format than PlayStation 4 and PC. In fact, he’s suggested Xbox One owners save up for Sony’s console if they want to get in on the action.
Capcom has attracted some criticism from fans lately though, as a few popular characters, such as Blanka and Sagat, haven’t made the roster this time around. Ono-san has attempted to explain the decision making process, making it clear it’s not an easy task picking characters.
Street Fighter V will also receive a PS4 hardware bundle to coincide with the standard edition at retail, and a story-based expansion will be released this summer. Be sure to check out the latest footage of the game here.
