Catherine has sold over 500k worldwide

Atlus parent Index has confirmed that sheep-infested puzzler Catherine has flogged over 500,000 units globally.

Released in Japan in February and July in North America, Catherine‘s success has resulted in Index recording a healthy profit year-on-year.

The quirky title has become Atlus’ biggest ever release in the company’s 20-year history, and received rare reviews from critics, including PSU’s very own Adam Dolge, who awarded the game 8.5/10 in his review.

Catherine has yet to receive a European release, though it’ll finally turn up in PAL regions at some point in 2012.
