CD Projekt RED has revealed that yes, those sounds-too-good-to-be-true beta invites for The Witcher IV are indeed complete scams.
Speaking on X, the studio requested that anyone who receives a beta invite should report the scam. Here’s the full statement:
We’ve been taking the necessary steps to take this fraudulent messaging down. That said, if you receive any invites to or stumble upon news of one, we kindly ask you to report the scam using the tools available to you in your email client or the social media platform you are using. Remember: professional monster slayers don’t fall for scams; they see right through them and slay them!

The Witcher IV was given its official reveal trailer during December’s The Game Awards, and CDPR confirmed back in March this year that the game won’t see the light of day until after 2026. Recently, the studio has hired more staff to work on the highly anticipated fantasy sequel and other projects.
Unlike the first three games, The Witcher IV will see Ciri as the main protagonists, something that Doug Cockle, who voices original hero Geralt, is fully behind and ‘can’t wait to see what‘ CDPR has done with the character.
