Chris Avellone Reveals He Has Been Working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Chris Avellone - Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Knights of the Old Republic 2 lead designer Chris Avellone has revealed that he has just finished up work on Respawn Entertainment’s third-person action adventure game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

The news comes from a relatively brief exchange between Avellone and a fan over on Twitter.

@ChrisAvellone what games are you writing for currently besides Dying Light 2?

I can’t say 100% b/c of NDAs, but the ones I can say: I just finished up work with Jedi: The Fallen Order – and beyond that, there’s another big bomb dropping in a month! Er, I mean, maybe. Ahem.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Isn’t the Only Game Chris Avellone has Been Working On

As you can see, Avellone was careful not to give too much away. However, a cursory glance at his LinkedIn profile reveals some rather tantalising information.

For instance, as well as working on Fallen Order for the past eleven months – February 2018-January 2019, to be exact – it states that Avellone provided not only “story work” and “story/character reviews” during that time, but also various “cinematic scripts”.

Returning to the original Tweet and it would appear Avellone has also been working on another game, too. One which we’ll be hearing more about in roughly a months’ time.

We can’t say for sure what this second mystery title is. But, based on a couple of tell-tale hints from the man himself and the fact that Avellone has spent two-and-a-half years working with Hardsuit Labs (which is partially owned by Paradox Interactive), some believe it could be Paradox Interactive’s upcoming Vampire: The Masquerade game.

Curiouser and curiouser.
