Cities: Skylines 2 Has Been Delayed On Consoles Into 2024

Cities: Skylines 2 has been delayed on PS5 and other current-gen consoles into Spring 2024, though it will still arrive on PC this coming October as previously announced.

In a statement from developer Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive, the team came to the realization that they “need more time to reach the quality targets we have set for console.”

“As we want to provide the best experience for our players, we are updating the release window for Xbox and PS5 to Spring 2024. The additional time allows us to focus on matching the quality and performance across all platforms.”

An unfortunate news for console players, though not an incredibly surprising one. Such in-depth city builders like Cities: Skylines have been best experienced on PC, and haven’t had the easiest transition to consoles.

That doesn’t mean the console versions of games like this haven’t shined in the past, particularly after plenty of updates. It’ll be interesting to see how Cities: Skylines 2 performs when it does arrive on consoles.
