Lorien Testard, the composer behind the critically acclaimed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, was discovered by developer Sandfall Interactive after posting his Soundcloud music on an indie game forum.
The soundtrack for the game is around eight hours and can be purchased on Steam, with the official Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 website revealing that Testard was spotted by the game’s director after sharing his work on an indie video game forum. Prior to that, he had uploaded his work to Soundcloud.
For a long time, I composed video game music in my free time, writing a new track each week in different styles to refine my skills. At the time, I was a guitar teacher, but once a week, I would compose and upload my work to SoundCloud. After a year, I had about fifty tracks online. One day, I shared one of my compositions on an indie video game forum. That’s when Guillaume Broche, Game Director at Sandfall Interactive, discovered my work. He reached out and asked if I would compose the soundtrack for his game.
