The latest NPD data’s confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops triumphed as the best-selling game in North America for the month of January 2011.
The Cold War-era shooter’s success last month follows impressive December sales, with the game shifting a whopping 8.4 million units over the holiday period.
Punters also flocked to sci-fi horror romp Dead Space 2, which reached third place behind ubiquitous Wii outing Just Dance 2. In terms of PS3-exclusives, Sack-tastic sequel LittleBigPlanet 2 reached fourth place, while DC Universe Online swooped in at number 10.
On the hardware front, Microsoft’s come out beating its chest as the dominant platform holder for the month, with Xbox 360 shifting 381,000 units.
