Codemasters delays Rise of the Argonauts

Codemasters has told Eurogamer that its men-in-loincloth-centric action-RPG Rise of the Argonauts will no longer be launching in November. It is, however, still down for release before Christmas.

Apparently there will be no PlayStation Network or Xbox Live demo either, as Codemasters is fussy about the idea of partitioning off bits of the epic storyline for the sake of undecided consumers.

Rise of the Argonauts will launch simultaneously on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It concerns the gruff, mythological doings of one Jason and his band of staunch soldier-sailors, who embark on a quest to obtain the Golden Fleece and thus resurrect Jason’s murdered wife. There are skill trees, branching dialogues and character recruitment mechanics in store, but we gather menu-shuffling is at a minimum. Combat is pretty in-your-face, too: let the enemy get one hit in and it’s off to Hades for you.
