Cold Iron Studios, the developer behind Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, has announced that it has laid off an undisclosed number of staff as well as making changes to team responsibilities “around our ongoing development and support needs.”
The developer issued a statement online stating that it remains committed to supporting Aliens Fireteam Elite 2, and hopes to share a roadmap in the coming weeks.
We have had to make a difficult decision to reduce staffing and adjust team responsibilities around our ongoing development and support needs. Earlier today, we said goodbye to some of our colleagues and friends. We are grateful for their contributions to the studio and our games, and we are doing what we can to help them during this transition.
Cold Iron Studios remains dedicated to providing continued support for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2. Our team is focused on near-term quality improvements and is committed to supporting the game long-term, with plans to share a roadmap in the coming weeks. Work also continues on the Nintendo Switch 2 version, which remains scheduled for release in early 2027.
Thank you for your patience, support, and passion for the game. We’ll share more about the upcoming updates as soon as the details are ready.
Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in August 2026, and you can read our full review here.
