Reports that Sony flop Concord had a budget of $600 million have been debunked by GI.biz’s Christopher Dring on X.
In case you missed it, ex-IGN journalist Colin Moriarty claimed on his Sacred Symbols podcast via a source at Firewalk Studios that Concord boasted a $400 million budget. The source also stated that PlayStation bigwigs were championing the shooter, including Hermen Hulst, who reportedly viewed Concord as “his baby.”
Dring has now seemingly shot down these claims during a discussion on X, stating that “no game has that budget” and adding “Concord didn’t even get any above-the-line marketing spend.” He didn’t, however, offer any insight as to how big Concord’s budget actually was.

Concord has been something of an unprecedented misfire for PlayStation and video games in general. Regardless of what budget it actually had, the game was in development for years and no doubt had a significant amount of cash poured into it, only for Sony to pull it offline barely two weeks after launch.
Only last week it was revealed that the game’s director had stepped down, and that Firewalk Studios is now “in limbo” while Sony ponders what to do next.
