A fan project that has managed to fire up custom servers to get Concord up and running again has unsurprisingly been hit by DMCA notices from Sony.
As reported on Friday, a group of developers were able to get the Firewalk Studios-developed online shooter in a playable stage again, with elements including the main menu and character loading all up and running alongside Clash Point matches. The team did note, however, that it’s in bit of a “buggy” state, which is not surprising given the amount of work they had to do to bring it back from the dead.

Furthermore, only players who owned the game files via legitimate purchase were hosted by the team, while those who attempted to share “copyrighted files” were quickly booted out. Despite this, Sony has caught wind of the project and has filed copyright infringement claims against a number of videos on YouTube and social media showcasing the fan effort in action.
“Due to worrying legal action we’ve decided to pause invites for the time being,” one of the developers of the fan project worth on Discord.
Concord was released for PS5 and PC in August 2024, but received lukewarm reviews from critics and failed to attract much of a following. Sony subsequently shut the game down after only a few weeks, before pulling it offline for good and shuttering Firewalk Studios. In wake of Concord’s failure, PlayStation executive Hermen Hulst has stated that the format holder has put in place a stricter testing process to avoid a repeat performance.
