Speaking during its latest financial results overnight, Remedy Entertainment announced that Control 2 has now entered full production as of February 2025.
The developer revealed that highly anticipated sequel is “finalising the production readiness stage” and entered full production this month. Remedy added that it has “verified the velocity of asset creation, established production pipelines, and are ready for scaling up for full production.”

Remedy has been pretty frequent with offering small updates on the process of Control 2, having stated back in November 2024 that the game will be an action-RPG. Prior to that, the studio stated back in August last year that Control 2 was preparing for full production, having ‘increased development pace‘ earlier that year.
Control 2 may be in full production, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing it any time soon. Now that preproduction has been complete, Remedy is now knuckling down to actually building the game and its world, and considering how long triple-A titles take to develop these days, it’ll be a while before we can put down the cash for Control 2. Still, it’s good to hear that the project is progressing smoothly.
Remedy also revealed during the financial results that Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake is ‘making steady progress,’ while Alan Wake 2 has now recouped its development costs and marketing budget having sold over two million copies.
