Remedy CEO Tero Virtala has revealed during a chat with GameFile’s Stephen Totilo during the Game Developer’s Conference that Control 2, which is the next major title from the studio, is being made on a slightly smaller budget than Alan Wake 2.
Control 2 is being made for €50 million, which is split between Remedy and Annapurna. One key detail Virtala revealed however is that Alan Wake 2’s budget was “a bit higher” than Control 2, something which Remedy feels confident about despite the industry’s typically ever-selling game budgets nowadays/
I think with that we can create excellent games. That then builds the basis that, if we create an excellent game and it happens to sell four million or five million units, then we are really happy.
