Crystal Dynamics Hit By More Layoffs As Around 30 People Lose Their Jobs

Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind the next instalment in the Tomb Raider franchise, has revealed that another round of layoffs have hit the company, with around 30 people having lost their jobs.

Speaking on this latest round of layoffs, Crystal Dynamics revealed that the cuts have come off the back of a reorganisation at the studio aimed to “optimize the continued development of our flagship Tomb Raider game, as well as shaping the rest of the studio to make new games for the future.”

Crystal Dynamos has suffered from numerous layoffs over the past few months, with the most recent one coming only in August, where an undisclosed number of staff were let go following the cancellation of the Perfect Dark reboot. Also in March, 17 staff members at Crystal Dynamics were laid off as a result of the company having to “better align our current business needs and the studio’s future success.”
